Circulation desk - situated in the main library


Our staff at this desk can help you get a library card, check out books, and recall books not on the shelf. Here you can also deposit the request forms for books stored in the archive and for Interlibrary Loans and pick them up when they are received. To get a Library Card please fill in a form and show us your Identification card (student s ID, passport, driver's license).

Student Kepler- Cards have this borrowing right integrated in their own Kepler- card. They only need to activate their account at the issue desk. This activation is free. In case of loosing their card they have to pay € 10,- for creating a Duplicate - Card.
§ 5 Benützungsordnung

Other People eg. Non-Students and people who are not working at the university (over 18 years) will get a borrowing - card. For creating an account they will have to pay € 7,-. In case of loosing your card you will also have to pay € 10,- for Duplicate creation (§ 5 Benützungsordnung).

Fees have to be paid at Circulation desk!

Changes of Adress or Names have also to be done there or via email to Circulation Desk | Leihstelle

Borrowing


Everyone is free to use the library of the Department of economics. Borrowing is also free.

If you like to borrow books you need the borrowing right on your Kepler- Card. Therefore you have to fill in a form at the Circulation desk in the main library.

You have to show this Card each time you borrow books.

The maximum number of simultaneously lent books in the economics library is 15! Students who are working on their diploma or doctoral thesis can upgrade their limits with an special status for six months. This special status can be applied at the circulation desk in the main library.

Loan Period


The loan period for users for special literature (with the status: “entlehnbar”) is 33 days.

Books on status: “bedingt entlehnbar” (7 days) can only be borrowed in exceptional cases.

Status of Use


If you want to know whiche books are checked out on your account, the loan periods of each book, or reservations… you can lookup via internet or you ask your librarian.

Renewing | Extension of Loan Period


Renewing the loan period has to be done before deadline is reached! You can renew it by yourself via internet or ask the librarian in the main library or economics library during opening hours to do it for you.

The renewing can only be done if the book is not reserved!

Reservation | Prebooking


If the book you like to borrow is checked out you can reserve it via internet or in the economics library- therefore you need your Kepler – Card.

After arrival of the reserved book you will get an e-mail notification. The book will be reserved for your for seven days. If you don’t need it anymore you can cancel the reservation via internet or tell the librarian.

Return

The return of borrowed books of the economics library can only be done during the opening hours.

Exceptions will be only made during holidays.

Late return


Books not returned in time are subject to be recalled and a fee for the delay will be charged. In this case please return it at your earliest convenience. Books checked out at the Central University Library may be renewed by yourself via Internet.

Overdue fees

1st Overdue notice: EUR 2,-
2nd Overdue notice: EUR 4,-
3rd Overdue notice: EUR 6,- 


!ATTENTION!
Overrunning the Deadline of the loan period
per book will cause an overrun fee of € 0,20 per day!

In case of loosing or damaging a book the person who has lent it will be liable for it!

You cannot check out Periodicals, Statistics, Handbooks, Lexica, Dictionaries, Discs and Books with a label saying:
"
Nicht Entlehnbar"
